We have a number of volunteer positions for the Lytham PROMS Festival
Weekend 2011. We are particularly interested in event management, public
relations, marketing and business students (over the age of 18) who
would like to gain the experience of a live outdoor event.
All volunteers will receive
- An official acknowledgement of support (for use in CV);
- Two complimentary tickets for a concert of their choice (Status
Quo or Katherine Jenkins ) for their friends and family;
- Food and drink whilst on duty.
The following positions are currently
available
These positions require the manning of the road closure points
for Lytham Proms at various key points along the Central Beach area.
Marshals must be over the age of 18 years.
A select number of car parking spaces will be available for VIP
guests and blue badge holders. The marshals will be responsible for
managing the car parking and ensuring a safe and orderly flow of traffic
before, during and after the event.
- Customer Service Marshals
The customer service marshals will be located within the event arena.
They will work in partnership with the registered security personnel and
stewards and answer questions from members of the public, delivering
outstanding customer service to all patrons and guests. They will cover
the following areas;
- Box Office - The Box Office will be open to the public from
16:00 on the day of the concerts. They will be responsible for the
selling and collection of tickets. Unless the tickets have sold out
prior to the concert start time, the box office volunteers will be
required to handle cash and a credit card machine.
- Programme / merchandise selling - During the events, programmes
etc will be on sale to the general public, it is the role of the
volunteer to ensure that every member of the public has the
opportunity to purchase a programme unless they are sold out.
- VIP Hospitality – arena and backstage - VIP Hospitality is
backstage and designated area in the arena. Both these areas will
need professional volunteers who will meet the needs of the public
and / or artist on behalf of Cuffe & Taylor.
- Production Runner The production runners will assist either the
technical crew or the stage manager. This role is quite diverse,
offering a host of experience of backstage activity and will be
on-duty throughout the day of the event until the end of the
performance.
- Litter Marshals For the Katherine Jenkins performance, the
public will be allowed to bring picnics. The litter marshals will be
supplied with bin liners, and ensure that the litter is deposited in
designated areas throughout the concert. They will also ensure that
a final sweep of the green is done to remove any litter post event.
